For the past 15 years, I have studied the White's seahorse and the Cauliflower soft coral; the seahorse loves the soft coral as habitat. Both species were recently listed as Endangered as a result of declines across their range. #NationalThreatenedSpeciesDay #ThreatenedSpeciesDay

Today I met with staff at Sea Life Sydney and the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, two institutions who play an important role in the fight against extinction.

I stepped behind the scenes of the groundbreaking Seahorse Hotels which start as artificial habitats but are completely biodegradable so will grow into natural habitats once they are placed in the marine environment.

We are thrilled to announce that SIMS will be partnering with @NSWDPE, Taronga Zoo, and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service in a $9.1 million NSW Gov initiative to restore Sydney Harbour – Seabirds to Seascapes.

Our ambition is to understand the inter-connectivity and benefits of restoration at a holistic level, and our hope is that our template for seascape restoration can be then used throughout NSW and further abroad.
