"COVID is reaching an endemic stage and we all need to learn to live with it" is false, dangerous, and should be disqualifying for positions in academic leadership.

If you're in a leadership position and you're "done with covid", there's a very simple solution in which you won't have to deal with making (or avoiding) decisions anymore.

Shitty leadership is endemic and we have to learn to live with it. Or NO WE DON'T. Vote. Challenge. Speak up.

I remember when University of Guelph admin declined to comment on the riots in DC because it doesn't really affect our community and no other universities said anything. How about now, with racism and antisemitism, a state of emergency in our capital, and a University of Guelph faculty member speaking there?

I've never had so many people I know testing positive as I do right now. We don't have reporting anymore, but it's pretty clear that cases are surging on campus. This might not even be BA.2 yet. Looks like the people who have been wrong every time were wrong once again.
