Liz Cheney: โ€œOne of the real fallacies in this election is that somehow Donald Trump is going to be an ally of the state of Israel, an ally of the Jewish peopleโ€ฆThe antisemitism that the Republican Party is now excusing and accommodating is despicable.โ€

THREE KEY ELECTION SCENARIOS TO WATCH FOR TONIGHT: 1. Things go great and I get drunk 2. Things go terribly and I get drunk 3. It's a nailbiter and I get drunk

I have said this before, but it's weird when you realize that what you thought was rock bottom was actually somewhere around rock middle

In the coming days there's gonna be a lot of opining about what the Harris campaign did wrong, but this election was not an indictment of Kamala Harris. It was an indictment of America.

As a Brit, I've been watching the American election results with sorrow for my American friends. Some are comparing it to the Brexit vote here, imagining if we'd voted for Brexit twice. But here's the thing... in a sense, we did. And here are some lessons from it. ๐Ÿงต

Great afternoon cutting the ribbon on the newly renovated Caroline Freeland Park w/ Montgomery Parks, Miti Figueredo ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Marc Korman, Sarah Wolek & a huge community turnout! Named for a trailblazing champion of urban parks & design, itโ€™s a much needed activated open space for the downtown.

All the news isn't grim. In 2023 I got to bike with this wonderful group of people on San Francisco's Great Highway. It was one of the best times I've ever had riding. On election day voters passed Proposition K there, so it will now be permanent! Streetsblog SF Luke Bornheimer (Streets Forward)

Disturbing to see the shift in voting in cities but maybe it will spur better governance, most people want reliable services & clean, safe public spaces vitalcitynyc.org/articles/the-fโ€ฆ

My suggestion is letโ€™s just do whatever Latino democrats who got elected in competitive districts tell us to do washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/โ€ฆ

Fourth, the subtext to so many of the criticisms of cycling is that it's expensive and elite. But the obvious counterfactual is rarely considered: cars are much more expensive, and no, not everyone in D.C. has one or can afford one.

Thrilled for this but also heartbroken that Mayor Muriel Bowser lost her courage & on Connecticut Avenue which is wider & has better public transit we can't have the same.

The Justice Dept and the court system failed to uphold the principle that no one is above the law. DOJ by neglecting to promptly investigate the events of Jan 6, and the courts by willfully delaying progress of the case and providing immunity. The public deserved better.
