Letter in today’s Irish Examiner: Department must respect decisions from ASTI #SeniorCycleRedevelopment #SeniorCycleReform #LeavingCertReform #edchatie irishexaminer.com/opinion/yourvi…

📚 Leaving Cert reform is doomed to fail! ❌The Minister for Education is standing over a reform that most of our teachers do not support! 👉🏻 We need it paused now! It won’t work and therefore will fail! The Labour Party Ireland ASTI Teachers' Union Ire. #Edchatie

ASTI Honorary Treasurer and delegate to #BDC25 Noelle Moran spoke today on the need for improved carer’s leave arrangements for workers. Irish Congress (ICTU)

ASTI President Donal Cremin and Vice President Padraig Curley both spoke on parental leave and the need for a flexible model for teachers in line with other workers at #BDC25 today. Irish Congress (ICTU)

Helen McEntee TD Insane to be Introducing 40% AAC projects for Senior Cycle reform, with no AI Guidelines or AI training for teachers, in a time when education elsewhere is reversing AI prone assessments. What could possibly go wrong? 😱😱😡

ASTI member and chair of ICTU’s Global Solidarity Committee Ann Piggott, and delegates Noelle Moran and Eamon Dennehy addressed #BDC25 today on the issues of global solidarity and the Unfair Dismissals Act. Irish Congress (ICTU)

Watching Teachers' Union Ire. stand firm at third level while they told second level teachers to accept rushed reforms is hard to stomach. AI-prone assessments, no training, no pause, our students and schools are paying the price. Disgraceful double standard.

CAO is killing real learning. Points obsession fuels grinds, stress and inequality. Time for third level to stop hiding behind it and own their admissions. #edchatie Teachers' Union Ire. ASTI Department of Education and Youth

A podcast on teacher shortages by carlobrien and The Irish Times. This podcast neglects to mention that every single austerity measure imposed on teachers from 2009 onwards (following the bank bailout) still remains in place, thanks to Paschal Donohoe/Jack Chambers TD and others.

carlobrien The Irish Times Paschal Donohoe Jack Chambers TD There is also no mention of the massive increase in workload imposed on teachers since 2009, effectively cancelling out tiny pay "increases" that don't even match the rate of inflation.
