A huge thanks to our dedicated members who turned out to help put our course to bed for the winter. Spreading insulating straw on our greens was introduced in Eastern Canada by our recently-retired super Gord MacMillan. 1/3

Experimenting with late Fall Trimmit applications, post snow mould apps, on T1/Poa annua turfs. Will be interesting to observe how varying rates affect each species come spring, and how regulation of T1 affects spring recovery wear tolerance and vigour. SyngentaTurfCanada

I’ve read that Pete Dye was notorious for conveying his concepts by drawing in the soil; and we’ve all seen photos of Stanley Thompson’s models. Imagine what both would think of this technology out of UC Davis. Very cool. web.cs.ucdavis.edu/~okreylos/ResD…

Even at 1500ft2 it pays to do it right. Some long overdue fertility and a good shot of granular wetting agent to help get through this hot and dry summer. Heavy soils are parched! As always, check plots for learning as we battle this dry stretch.
