In 2001, artist Richard Ankrom posted a "5 North" sign on the 110 N. in DTLA to alert drivers to get in the left lane for the 5 turnoff. His work was so impeccable (and helpful), Caltrans at first didn't notice, then allowed it to stay. "5 North" is now part of permanent signage.

Hatch chile shortage announced. The drought and heat have halted growth, and there's gonna be a BIG gap between hat was harvested early (last week) and what becomes available down the road. Coffee, chocolate, maple syrup, chile, all being made scarce by climate collapse.

Hey, friends! I am very very very rarely on twitter anymore. I'm feeling nostalgic and would greatly appreciate if you have the energy to send me an email about what you're up to and something that made you smile recently
