Commissioner Commissioner Matt Varilek recently shared DEED’s legislative highlights with Tribal Leaders while attending the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council meeting on the Bois Forte reservation. While visiting, he took in a quiet moment and paid respects to a great leader.

Commissioner Commissioner Matt Varilek had a great time last week visiting with DEED staff in their booth during a local Juneteenth celebration.

Last week, DEED represented Minnesota during the 2025 BIO Convention in Boston with partners Brooklyn Park, MN, Great River Energy, GREATER MSP, Lifecore Biomedical, Medical Alley, Microbiologics, Nu-Tek BioSciences, PhD Technology LLC.

DEED has awarded more than $5 million in grants to three infrastructure projects in Greater Minnesota. The funding is expected to create or retain 1,006 jobs in North Branch, Sartell and Willmar and leverage $221 million in private investment. Details here bit.ly/4nh2j0F
