Thanks to the Minnesota DFL trifecta, you have to roadtrip to Iowa, Wisconsin or the Dakotas just to unload scrap copper if you remodel your house. Absolutely a ridiculous new rule with many more dumb rules to come! Who knew selling copper was more illegal than sports betting!!!

BREAKING: Minnesota taxpayers are on the HOOK for $430,000 in legal fees to prep Gov. Walz for a congressional hearing in Washington D.C. Instead of relying on the AG or in-house staff, Walz hired a PRIVATE firm estimated at $516/hour.

I remember a day when Minnesota DFL was worried about paying for a permanent door inside the Capitol. Yet Walz thinks $430k for legal fees to prepare him to do his job is ok?

This is an outrageous abuse of taxpayers’ money. The Governor has legal counsel on his staff who are paid a salary. They should be sufficient to prepare him for a Congressional hearing.

Tim Walz spent 12 years in Congress—he knows those hearing rooms inside and out, and he certainly knows how to conduct himself in that type of setting. So why did the Governor feel the need to spend $430,000 of taxpayer money on a private firm to ‘prepare’ for this hearing?   To

Gov. Walz spent $430,000 of your money on D.C. lawyers to prep for a hearing about bills he signed himself. He didn’t need the help, and now hardworking Minnesotans are stuck with the tab. Rep. Jim Nash

One bill that didn’t pass: Patti Anderson’s Office of Insp. General to investigate fraud across all state agencies. It had bipartisan support in the Senate & a pledge from the Governor to sign it, but failed on party lines in the House. We’ll keep pushing for this bill in 2026.

Leader Rep. Harry Niska responds to $430,000 in fees Gov. Walz spent to prep for his congressional hearing: “To be clear, there appears to be no legitimate legal interest of the state in racking up nearly half a million dollars in what amounts to PR consulting.”
