About a week later my “newly diagnosed” package arrived in the mail from @mssocietyABNWT . It contained helpful information on the available DMT’s (Disease modifying therapies). At that time there were about 6 DMT’s - 4 of which were first line therapies 1/2 @MSSocietyCanada

Today there are 8 injectable options, 8 oral options & 3 infusions (not all of these are considered first line) approved & 8 more in various study phases. This is thanks to the dedication of #ms researchers, study participants & donations to @MSSocietyCanada #takeactionforMS

I read through all the info & made a decision on which med I would choose. I would continue with that med for the next 9 yrs, relapse free and without new lesions on MRI for most of that period. Guess I picked right. For many it’s trial & error. @MSSocietyCanada #TakeActionforMS

I had a friend comment on my FB that he had been following my #MS journey here,had been learning lots & found it valuable but didn’t feel the “like” button was appropriate. I’m glad to know that people are finding this informative. I hope it helps us be understanding to others.

So , I’ve picked a medication & decided to keep my #ms on a need to know basis. Simultaneously, I’ve decided to take an upward career jump. A split position as am exec admin/MOA in neurology at the city’s MS Clinic. Keeping personal &professional apart took a whole new meaning.

Went in to ER last week ? Fractured ankle. Dr: What did you do after it happened? Me: cursed a lot & hopped across the field to feed the pigs. Dr: sigh, well I don’t see a break on x-ray - probably a grade 2 sprain. I’d like for you to keep off it, but you’re not going to.

We’re on ok here at the farm. Only loss was 15 meat birds, some trees, a window (thanks to a flying kayak) and a barn/goat paddock/fence. Pigs, goats, rabbits, laying hens, dogs and humans all safe! #peistorm #HurricaneFiona

.FlySwoop has atrocious customer service. Flight was canceled due to hurricane fiona (understandable) BUT they were unable to rebook me before the return flight. Now since I’m obviously not going to on the flight I’m out $400,missing MRI & Neuro appt. No Humans to speak with.
