As our Instagram and Facebook following grows, our Twitter seems to slowly fall, bit by bit. Soon we'll be sitting here, on an island, on our own, talking to some cows, about how it used to be. So we tweet on, cows against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Very sad. I grew up in the next village along from Chippy and have had amazing times both speaking at and attending ChipLitFest (it's also where I met my beloved platonic life partner @[email protected]). A big loss - and Penny Batchelor - Author's thread explains why beautifully. 👇🏻

This little book from the folk at Delayed Gratification is a bitesize delight. Words submitted by the public for inclusion in Collins dictionary is a favourite so far, as is the timeline of viral food fads. Every entry could be the start of a novel, they’re so telling, and niche. Joyful.

Already emotional after an incredible #FutureBook opening keynote from Fleur Sinclair. Imagine if bookshops were the spaces from which we rebuilt our sense of community and embedded values of empathy, curiosity and respecting difference… not to mention shared moments of joy ✨
