Yep. A lot of ppl don’t understand the β€œcheaper launch” point is for investors, not customers. The launch market is tiny at only ~$18b total. Compare that to the satellite market at $285b (71% of total space industry revenue). A huge chunk of the cost to build a sat operation is

If you don’t yet get what it means for modern manufacturing to allow us to tame complexity, here’s a visual analogy using rocket engines:

Why do I say, β€œtame complexity”? The complexity is still there, hidden inside and even increasingly abstracted away from engineers. By β€˜taming complexity’ we can make complex, powerful systems more easily.

Context for those at home: Rivada Space Networks bought valuable spectrum rights from Trion Space in 2022 as they plan to launch 600 satellites for high-speed comms. They have until mid-2026 to have half launched and transmitting or those rights dissolve. They partnered with

No. Apollo was driven by over 20k private industrial partners and universities. A 400k strong workforce, while NASA employed only 36k civil servants at its peak - 90% private ’means of production’ is hardly communist. Apollo was a social program and that *is* why it was

I want to say I'll never get tired of seeing footage like this but given I don't watch most launches anymore, I'm sure this, too, will become boring* over time. Which is good because the goal is to transform novelties into utilities! With that said let's pause for the

Just landed in Austin, TX. Who wants to talk about zero-assembly manufacturing, same-day prototyping, and an entirely domestic supply chain for building electronics? I'll be in NYC, LA, SF, DC and CO after.

AI isn’t going to save manufacturing. Adding software to make inefficient processes work faster is like trying to model better spreadsheets to fix a factory of broken machines. We need to simplify the physical inputs and processes. Then we can amplify the improvements with AI.
