Astonishing that not a single Health minister was prepared to go on BBC Radio 4 Today to explain their abysmal failure to avert junior doctors’ strikes. Rishi Sunak says he “wouldn’t want to get in the middle of” NHS pay disputes. Patients are suffering as a result of his cowardice.

We can't afford to lose doctors. Rachel Reeves, the chancellor, said last year that resolving the doctor pay dispute is "a drop in the ocean" for the government. Paying doctors 22.67£/hr to keep them here is a no brainer.

I was at the London picket today. Wes Streeting was nowhere to be seen. While doctors showed up in strength, he was nowhere to be found; refusing to acknowledge that moving a doctor from £18.62/hr to £22.67/hr over time is entirely reasonable. He wasn’t there to answer why

A fully qualified doctor earns just £18.62/hr. A physician assistant can earn £24+/hr in their first year. More money. Less training. Less responsibility. And Wes Streeting thinks drs should just accept this? You don’t fix the NHS by devaluing drs. You fix it by restoring pay.
