MHPS Maths Magic- This year we have implemented Maths Chats across all of our classes. Maths Chats allows students to mentally complete a Maths problem before sharing strategies through whole class discussions. Check out some of our Mathematicians in Stage 2!

Today we launched the Book Stop! Our aim is to streamline home reading borrowing schoolwide so that our students are set up for success (particularly those still on decodables). Students are encouraged to read books at home according to their knowledge of phonemes and graphemes.

This fortnight’s Curiosity Hour was all about strengthening our planning & programming practices to ensure high quality, explicit and engaging Maths lessons. Teachers brought along their programs, providing each other peer feedback discussing what worked well and where to next.

It’s a Faces on the Data kinda day at MHPS. 📈📊Some in depth discussions about the names, needs, numbers and next steps for our students. 😀
