#HappeningNow This week, we join our partner institutions for a 2⃣-day symposium on multimorbidity research in collaboration with Centre for Global Chronic Conditions, LSHTM hosted by THRU_ZIM. The symposium seeks to discuss research on multiple long-term chronic illness as a #GlobalHealth concern.






We’re currently hosting a Vector Genomics Training for for PhD students & postdocs in #WestAfrica to enhance their bioinformatics & #malaria genome sequencing skills. Organised with West African Network for TB, AIDS and Malaria, it includes in-person sessions, virtual lectures by LSTM & lab sessions.

Today, we celebrate the establishment of the W/Africa Genomics Centre of Excellence in partnership with Oxford Nanopore. The regional hub, a major milestone in scientific #research, will strengthen #Africa-led genomic sequencing, expand capacity & drive research across the continent.

This week, we hosted a training on Mobile Phone Data for Better Decision Making in 🇬🇲. Organised in collaboration with GBOS, PURA, University of The Gambia & the World Bank, the training equipped participants with practical skills in managing, processing & analysing large-scale datasets.

Today, we kickstart a 4-day Researcher Leadership & Grant Writing workshop for 27 healthcare professionals in collaboration with KEMRI-Wellcome Trust & London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, funded by National Institute for Health and Care Research. The programme also provides mentorship opportunities for early career researchers.



The MRCG data science cluster recently embarked on an outreach program to Marina International School, West African International School and St. Peter Senior Secondary School to raise awareness about data science, its practical applications, & its potential to drive innovation & social impact.
