That time of year again - the turning on of our Christmas Village lights! Well done to all the boys on their fantastic artistic creations, making all of the buildings from recycled materials! It truly looks amazing this year! 🌲🎅🔔🦌☃️⛄❄️🏘️🏠🏚️🌨️

Blowing the Christmas cobwebs away with some excellent fraction problems courtesy of NRICH maths ! 'Fractions in a Box' and 'Rectangle Tangle' really sparked some excellent thinking and part/whole discussion. nrich.maths.org/1048 nrich.maths.org/1103

When subtracting from a number that ends with a lot of zeros, consider subtracting 1 from both numbers so we don't have to "borrow" several times.

An old favourite of mine! Today we explored ratios in maths through the 'Mixing Juice' problem! We really enjoyed mixing and tasting the various mixtures of diluted orange, as well as exploring the maths behind which recipe was the most and least 'orangey'! 🍊🍊🍊

A tricky problem this morning related to Time, Speed and Distance... lots of creative thinking with different means of representation! 💨🕐🚗🏎️

Our school is 50!🎉As part of the build up to the celebrations, each class was given a decade from the last 50 years to do a giant art display! We got the 90s - massive credit to the wonderful artists in Room 7! 90's kids will hopefully see a bit of their youth on this page! 🎨🖌️

The board game 'Block Party' is a big hit with my numeracy group as a finisher to our lessons - players have to choose a card and build the item on the card using small bricks. The guesser has to guess what each player has built! Spot the Santa hat!🎅🏻 Great for spatial awareness

Massive thanks to Jono and his amazing 3v3 inflatable air pitches which went down an absolute treat in school during Active Schools Week.

A great day for the school as we received our 10th Green Flag Green-Schools built on years of work from Green Schools Coordinators, students, school staff and parents. 'Global citizenship, food and biodiversity'. A special flag as it is the last green flag a school can achieve
