OCR B History teachers, how do you make ‘Big business’ in MoA more memorable? Currently I give them a bit of background info, we look at it through Andrew Carnegie and then at 3 examples working out positive and negative impact. But this doesn’t seem to ‘stick’ with pupils…

Yr 10 did their first medicine key people icon drills today 2 minutes per person. 1 minute knowledge recall followed by 1 minute knowledge organiser/book check. Students then flip it over and test each other by forming verbal answers. They smashed it!

One aim this year is to vary our homework offering at KS4. We want to encourage engagement with scholarship via the ‘Extended Extracts’. Students work through the text, build on definitions/respond to set questions. We’re aiming for one extract per paper topic. #historyteacher
