This weekend, the MSO Honor Guard joined veterans, local Stoneham residents & family members to dedicate squares in memory of WO 2 George C. Schultz Jr. and Sgt. Joseph C. Cerrone Jr. The ceremonies remembered two Stoneham residents killed in the line of duty in the Vietnam War.

Today, we honor and remember Correction Officer James A. Callahan, Sr. Ofc. Callahan passed away 52 years ago today following an assault by an inmate that officers were escorting inside the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction. His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

105 years ago today, the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution - finally guaranteeing women the right to vote nationally - was officially certified in Washington, DC. Today, we mark that historic event by celebrating #WomensEqualityDay.

Fall harvest season is now underway at the MSO's Project EARTH. This week, more than 60 pounds of honey from our bee program was collected by individuals in our Women's Pre-Release Center. Participants then processed it, producing 111 bottles honey.

Wednesday night members of the MSO and Sheriff Peter J Koutoujian joined local residents for the annual NewTV Cones 'n Cars event. It was a fun-filled night full of tremendous cars, excellent ice cream and great people.
