There’s just one problem with using testing to make travel decisions, says ⁦UC San Diego Health⁩ expert Chip Schooley: A negative COVID-19 test doesn’t guarantee that you’re not infected, or that you won’t be exposed in the near future. sandiegouniontribune.com/news/health/st…

For months, I've made point that – as a fully vaxxed person – I still don't want to get Covid. Big reasons: 1) we aren't sure that breakthru Delta cases can't be transmitted; & 2) I'm not certain that a mild Delta breakthrough case can't lead to Long Covid. Yesterday... (1/2)

...per CDC: viral loads in Delta breakthrus=those in non-vaxxed pts. That means concern #1 is real. Today, NEJM Israeli study: 19% breakthru infctns led to symptoms 6 wks later; supports concern #2. nejm.org/doi/full/10.10… Upshot: vaxxed should mask indoors until ⬆vax, ⬇cases.

When you go through trauma, Dr. Glaucomflecken says humor can help shift things around, make it your own again & get some control back. Lady Glaucomflecken (she/her)’s beautiful words about co-survivorship are a reminder for us all to remember the loved ones who go through it, too. #UCSDDoctorG
