Tonight JUGNoord, I've earned a lot of neat facts and figures about #Java garbage collection from Gerrit Grunwald 🇺🇦🇹🇼✌🏻. Main takeaway: if you don't specify which GC to use, the JVM will pick one. Most likely it's not going to be the best for your workload!

Really good practices shared in this talk. Obviously in classical projects build slowness are coming from front-end build and tests execution, rarely maven itself (excepted if you have multi-module projects with hundred of modules ... - there is currently a regression in mvn 4).
