CIP Regional Director for Africa, Joyce Maru will be at the Africa Food Systems Forum (#AFSF2025) in Dakar, Senegal. This year, CIP Motorsports, together with partners, will launch the Partnership for Root & Tuber Crops in Africa on Sept 3, 2025, 11:30 to 13:30 (GMT) at the Partners Stage

Season kickoff & partnership: The 2026A agricultural season is off to a strong start! This week, CIP & Rwanda Agriculture & Animal Resources Devpt Board, with support from @TAAT_OFSP, engaged with Sweetpotato seed multipliers (DVMs) to assess seed quality and ensure farmers access clean planting material.
Adding value to OFSP is key to unlocking its potential for Rwanda’s food security, nutrition & economy. CIP & RAB, through #Technologies to #FeedAfrica, OFSP compact, met processors to discuss the opportunities on OFSP value chain, and how to boost their capacity for national & regional markets.
Under the #B4WE project, International Potato Center, @BiovCIAT & partners are empowering rural communities in Eastern #DRC. A TOT in Huye- Rwanda (22–26 Sept) is building skills on #OFSPvine/roots production, pest management, nutrition & processing—benefiting 2M people, 60% women & girls.
Strengthening capacity, collaboration & impact! This week, International Potato Center, Rwanda Agriculture & Animal Resources Devpt Board, @BiovCIAT & partners train trainers on #OFSP in Huye- Rwanda. The goal: better vines, healthier roots, stronger value chains & improved nutrition for millions in Eastern #DRC.
Under CIAT B4WE / PABRA the climax of the training, at Rwanda Agriculture & Animal Resources Devpt Board, Rubona station, participants gained hands-on experience in building a sustainable #Sweetpotato seed system #OFSP, from tissue culture lab to screenhouse to field multiplication #FoodSystems International Potato Center.
The International Potato Center led training covered clean planting materials, #OFSP varieties, and vine multiplication methods, equipping participants with practical skills for stronger #seedsystems.
Today International Potato Center Rwanda, we met #InclusiveHub & Jean Damascene Bizimana (Rwanda National Union of the Deaf). Responsible scaling goes beyond numbers, centre equity, inclusion, sustainability & trust, with strong partnerships across the divide. #DisabilityInclusion #Agric4All
Today, International Potato Center joined FAO in Rwanda , Ministry of Agriculture & Animal Resources |Rwanda, and partners #Technologies to #FeedAfrica in #Nyamagabe and disseminated #OFSP vines to celebrate #WorldFoodDay under the theme “Hand in Hand for better food and a better future.”
