It's taken a bit of time, but our study is now out in the AEJ:Macro. We randomized wages posted in vacancies and found that (i) higher wages attract more applicants, but (ii) higher wages are also taken as a signal of lower chances to get hired pubs.aeaweb.org/doi/pdfplus/10…
