There is NOTHING mild re COVID. The symptoms linger x days. The cough painful, the sore throat sharp + asphyxiating. Muscle pains + HAs = numbing. Racing heart & breathing issues. Despite 3 Vaxx doses. After two years of care, it found me. And it’s not wanting to leave easily.

Great investigative research combined with superb diction. A story of London, UK in 1952 where some were killed by horrible men and others by gas pollution we denied for decades. Kate Winkler Dawson this was a book difficult to put down with a somber truth about our human species.

Most night docs are amazing at taking stuff from the earlier MD. But I’m sure there are days when some feel this way. [FYI … just a joke 😉]

Today I learned one ☝️ thing. ✅As a ER doctor 👨‍⚕️ I can make one big difference in the journey of a patient stuck in the ER by providing them a warm blanket 🛌 and a sandwich🥪. The amount of gratitude 🙏 it brings is unparalleled.

As an ER doc and leader this here is the most important question I ask myself daily 👇🏾 🙋‍♂️ Where should I fit the next meeting on this super busy calendar 🗓 while still working clinical shifts ? 🤷🏿‍♂️ Every leaders nightmare 😱

Someone helped us get through the night shift in the ER. 🌙 It was a busy night. We had one Ortho case after another. 🦴 It was a small gesture. Just a few candies for all the doctors. But it went a long way. A little energy rush to push us through. Thank you for caring 🙏

Strange times ❗️ Worried parents of fevered little ones coming to see me in the ER for Tylenol 🤷🏿‍♂️ ☑️After searching multiple drug stores. ☑️For an ⬆️number of respiratory bugs, RSV, influenza and of course BQ11. Happy 😃 to help with Tylenol but wish they could get it 😟

Another night in the ER. Another Pediatric and Geriatric unit. This time in a small rural community hospital which isn’t supposed to be this busy. The very young and the very old have a tough few months ahead.

The basic rules of Emergency Medicine ☑️ show up for shift ☑️ ignore whatever crisis is brewing in the world ☑️ remember your training ☑️ keep patients safe ☑️ go home and enjoy a hobby ☑️ spend time with loved ones ☑️ rest for next shift
