Guelder Rose is neither a rose, despite its name, nor a tree, yet it deserves to be included in our West Wittering Tree Nursery Project's A-Z list of plants. Read about why this shrub is so good for wildlife, on our blog: mwhg.org.uk/post/g-is-for-…

This beautiful Puss moth (Cerura vinula) photo was taken by one of our wildlife spotters. Named after cats due to their soft fur, these moths are a common sight in the UK during the evenings between May and July. Send us your wildlife sightings at mwhg.org.uk/find-wildlife-… #FWFH

12 volunteers recently joined our #FLOW team in #Birdham for a species survey of two ponds. Plenty of Water scorpions, water boatmen, and fresh water shellfish were seen. Key volunteer, Pebble 🐶, took a splash afterwards to celebrate the first pond dipping event of the season!

During May, our wildlife spotters were lucky enough to see Skylarks. This endangered species has suffered a 54% population decline in the UK between 1970 and 2001, with numbers still falling. See the other wildlife sightings we received in May at: mwhg.org.uk/post/may-2021-… #FWFH
