Superintendent Dr. Newman recently hosted an appreciation lunch to thank the incredible custodial & maintenance teams! These behind-the-scenes heroes have been hard at work all summer getting our buildings in top shape to welcome staff and students back for the new school year.

Last week, Manassas City Public Schools welcomed our newest teachers with a weeklong New Teacher Academy! Hosted by our Professional Learning Department, the academy helped our new staff get to know the division, build connections, and prepare for a successful school year.

Manassas City Public Schools kicked off the 2025-26 school year with a celebration of unity, pride, and purpose at Convocation on August 1. Staff from every school and department came together at Osbourn High School to celebrate their commitment to students and each other.

On Saturday, MCPS hosted its annual Community Resource Fair to help families prepare for a successful school year! Families connected with school representatives, met with MCPS services and explored resources from our community partners.

Haydon’s library now has “Something Wonderful” to share! On Friday, staff, division leadership, and guests gathered for a ribbon-cutting to celebrate a series of imaginative, whimsical murals by local artist John Hartt.

Smiles, handshakes, and warm welcomes filled our elementary schools during Friday’s Open Houses! Tomorrow is the first day of school, and we can’t wait to see our classrooms come alive with learning!
