As always, I think, Trump et al. are terrible because in most important respects they're the status quo enacted in particularly clumsy, blunt and belligerent form, not because they're a real departure from it.

One hint that Israel was going to starve everyone in Gaza was that senior Israeli national security people said, in Oct '23, that they were going to starve everyone in Gaza. This was published in English by Fathom Journal/Calev Ben-Dor, Michael Walzer's favorite magazine.

What many (but not all) of the now “vocal” Dems want is to return to the Biden era status quo of bombing children on 600 calories a day versus the Trump position of bombing kids on an empty stomach. Again, a modest improvement but still an objectively pro genocide position.

Israel knew that if they denied foreign journalists access to Gaza they could call everyone Hamas and do a holocaust because the depth of anti-Muslim racism in the west would mean Palestinian accounts of their own suffering would be disbelieved or ignored

Or, maybe criticizing Democrats is necessary in a minoritarian political structure in which that party is the only option for marginalized people - including Trans people as well as Black people like me. If we want it to do right by us, we must push it in that direction.
