You can scream truth at narcissists until you're blue in the face, but they don't have the capacity to understand that they are the problem. In their delusional fantasy world they are always right, always the victim, and you are always the “bad guy”.

When narcissists can’t control you they will try to control how others perceive you by smearing your character and spreading wild rumors to anyone who will listen. They want you to react to this emotionally so they can use that against you as “proof” that you are “the crazy one”.

Narcissists push and provoke their targets until they can’t take it anymore and react or retaliate. Narcissists then use their target’s emotional reaction to frame them as the “bad guy” and make themselves appear to be the “innocent victim”. This is called reactive abuse.

When narcissists are scared of horrible truths about them being revealed, they will run around in a race to spin their narrative first as damage control. Their delusional version of events will either frame them as the suffering victim or the valiant hero, but never the monster.

Narcissists will make excuses for their nasty behavior by trying to portray themselves as a “victim of circumstance”. They’ll go on and on about their own “hurt”, “struggles”, and “traumas” that “make them” behave terribly in order to write off any hurt and suffering they cause.

Never expect to get truth or honesty from a narcissist. You will never witness any genuine behavior from people who are so lost in their delusional fantasy world that they have to lie to themselves every day just to protect their fragile ego and keep it from crumbling.

Narcissists will often rush their targets into friendships and romantic relationships and love-bomb them in order to secure their connection before they begin to slip and lose control of the carefully constructed persona they used to lure them in.

Narcissists view your boundaries as a threat to what they believe they’re entitled to. They would rather discard you for new supply that has no boundaries than ever show you the respect you deserve. Explaining yourself and begging them to treat you like a human being is futile.

At their core, narcissists are con artists. They know which manipulative mask to put on to scam people out of their time and money, and they know the right words to use and fake promises to make when they need to future-fake their way into draining their supply down to nothing.

When narcissists are unable to control other adults they will then target animals and/or children. Both targets are dependent on caregivers, so they are often silent, tormented victims. Beware when a narcissist is suddenly interested in being around children or animals.

Narcissists hate hearing about others’ happiness and success. Narcissists might pretend to be excited for their “friends” and superficially congratulate them, but deep down they are in a secret competition with everyone around them and see others’ wins as their losses.

Narcissists cannot ever truly care about their children. There is no room for them to be concerned about anything else in their life except what they can do and get for themselves. They often will even use their children as tools to achieve their selfish wants and desires.

Narcissists believe that everything and everyone around them is only a mere extension of themselves. That’s why they feel so entitled to command and control every aspect of their surroundings. When people don’t conform to this vision though, they smear them, or eliminate them

Narcissists will betray and lie to their partners with no remorse. They will pretend to be 100% devoted to their partner and mimic everything that a “loving” partner is, meanwhile they are seeing multiple people on the side, constantly on dating apps, and always in someone’s DMs.

Even when you ask a question that you already know the answer to, narcissists will look you dead in the eye and lie anyway. They often don’t even have any obvious tells and will appear completely genuine, especially those with an “outgoing”, “charming”, or “charismatic” demeanor.

Normal people feel hurt and betrayed by lies, narcissists will crash out over being confronted by the truth.
