I have very much enjoyed my different role as Community Based Learning Coordinator this year, but I find that my ❤️really is teaching literacy.

In recent years I’ve struggled to write. But last night and this morning, with quick writes facilitated by Tom Romano, I am writing again. Tom Romano

Trying to get people to understand relating to God by giving example after example of you relating to your own child leaves out a whole bunch of people- those who for various reasons are childless.

Sitting in a seminar on prayer and the trainer keeps using examples of “your children”, “your grandchildren” “your spouse.” I’m a childless widow. I’m sitting with 2 single women. Not everyone has kids or a spouse.

I find myself really disliking spending time in rooms that have no windows & natural light when I’m in seminars and workshops.

Tried 2 different Indie book stores and couldn’t get Jarrett Lerner ‘s new book, A Work In Progress. But I did get Brian Selznick’s new book and three books of poetry from Maine poet and retired teacher, Sarah Carlson.

I love slow, quiet mornings. Wish every morning could be like this.

Trying to get high school kids to do school work on Friday afternoon, the day of prom, when there is 4 weeks left of school and seniors are down to their last week.

I was supposed to teach a beginner kayak class this morning, but cold temps & predicted rain postponed it. So I’m sitting on my porch reading essays about the intersection of psychology and theology to help my friend who is taking a pastoral counseling class.
