I think all business pushing for mask removals should be taxed at a higher rate to compensate for all the sickness they want the public & their staff to incur.

"A lot of people that have long COVID have been denied, saying it is in your head, it's not real. Long COVID is real. Long COVID is affecting millions of people." WHO's Dr Maria Van Kerkhove & Dr Abdi Mohamed explain what we know so far about post-#COVID19 condition or long COVID.

Any new generation vaccines need to include #LongCovid as an outcome endpoint. Protection against hospitalization and death is not enough.

PROPOSAL: Any public space that has had its air handling upgraded to HEPA filtration, and displays suitable air quality metrics, be given an easily recognisable sticker certifying compliance to these public health standards, and be promoted and rewarded by the Government.

The HIV virus takes 2-8 years to develop into AIDS. The HPV virus takes even longer to cause cervical cancer. We don't know what awaits us five, ten years post-COVID infection, but we keep taking outrageous chances.

Good rule of thumb for those at low risk from Covid…if you share a space with someone wearing a mask, put one on too. They may have cancer, a child at home with leukaemia, or they may look after their vulnerable parents. The world needs more acts of kindness, not less.

To be very clear: this is a HEALTH CRISIS. Vic hospitals escalate to Stage 3 (of 4) to try & cope. Mask, no mask. Vax, no vax. Do what you like but don't expect regular health/hospital care if you need it. HCWs are doing their very best & more but there's only so much they can do

🚨POST-COVID & Kids🚨 New CDC report showing quite clearly that children are at significantly more risk for life-threatening diagnoses after COVID infection. Very convincing evidence that prevention of COVID-19 in children is very important to reduce childhood mortality. /1

What we learned from COVID? That oil is worthless in a society without consumption. That healthcare has to be public because health is public. That 50% of jobs can be done from home while the other 50% deserve more than they're being paid. That we live in a society not an economy

A high h-index implies that you work in a densely populated field with a lot of folks all working on the same thing and citing each other. This is therefore an index of how replaceable you are as a scientist. Discuss.
