Interesting two phenomenon at the conference this week: * Millennial presenters reflecting that they are “old” now * Less experienced practitioners referring to how much design systems have changed since they began (implicitly or explicitly) a few years ago

Any other non-climate expert non-meteorologist, watching Milton arriving, now wondering… “This is real. When should we expect the freeze waves shown in Day After Tomorrow?”

I’m researching interactive states. Would you recommend other design systems with a published Figma kit (ideally in the Figma community) with Text input components that provide interesting takes on architecting interactive and configurable states. I’ve got 10 audited so far…

With subscriptions increasing, I've been adding small enhancements from my customers to the Specs Figma plugin today... – Display color in HSLA – Annotate horz, vertical spacing set to AUTO – Detect custom Specs text styles hidden from publishing (by `.`) specsplugin.com

Whether I am doing it wrong (upon opening, it showed this) OR a middle tab is indeed now the default, I am utterly disoriented. WTH The New York Times iOS app Home section? Have I ever seen this in IA history?

In design tokens, don’t do what airlines do when creating scales: boarding group 1 (and 2, 3, …) preceded by what ends up a potpourri of other “pre” classes of various types ordered quizzically.

In this article buff.ly/39sAv2i Nathan A Curtis argues that #designSystems need more steps & rigor to achieve the higher quality and engagement they promise. That is why they take longer to build features than product teams, and that is a good thing.

So I am really starting to sense... is design systems Twitter/X really dying out? Is now the time we've reached critical lack of mass?

Yeah, OK, maybe I will. My specs plugin is pretty much shovel-ready to integrate this easily so that (a) you don't have to otherwise build your own plugin to do it and (b) it's already intelligent enough to only annotate and *difference* the attributes that matter.

Why in the world can you only set node.annotations via a plugin with dev mode enabled? I could easily add annotations via my existing design-mode Specs plugin, putting the right specs in the right places to tell the precise stories developers want to see, but can't.
