The MHPS executive. I feel so privileged to work alongside such dedicated, warm, inspirational leaders. They all have a can do attitude and all know that relationships are the building blocks to success. They also know how to have fun which means working with them is a delight!

Every Friday I try to send personalised texts to at least 2 students’ parents from each class. The feedback has been so positive with many parents coming to thank me in person. Today this lovely note was left for me from a parent that received a text today ❤️

Shout out to Jason White for inviting our little school to the QHHS CAPA showcase. Our students beamed on the stage and I’m so grateful that they got the opportunity. The other performances were also outstanding. Such talented teachers and students. The future is bright 🤩

We just had the most profound day of PL On Country with Muru Mittigar Limited Wayne & Lex are amazing story tellers who we learnt so much from. Not only that, they made us feel so welcome and so connected. They’ve inspired me to start the term with the mantra “together we are stronger.”

This morning some of our students were interviewed by ABC Radio to show our support for former student Olympian Kyle Bruce on Green and Gold Day. GO KYLE!!! 🟢🟡🇦🇺

Today we launched the Book Stop! Our aim is to streamline home reading borrowing schoolwide so that our students are set up for success (particularly those still on decodables). Students are encouraged to read books at home according to their knowledge of phonemes and graphemes.

Such a great day today! Our staff always give 100% for our students! The rain didn’t stop us and we had an amazing parade, open classrooms and a picnic lunch.

This fortnight’s Curiosity Hour was all about strengthening our planning & programming practices to ensure high quality, explicit and engaging Maths lessons. Teachers brought along their programs, providing each other peer feedback discussing what worked well and where to next.

Great opportunity for some of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to write and record a song today. We visited the Mt Druitt Street University. Such a great day! All thanks to The Song Room and Mr Watego.
