Our Interim NY Cities Director, Tami Lin-Moges, was pleased to join Council Member Erik Bottcher on WNYC 🎙 Morning Edition with Michael Hill. They talked about summer heat and what it will take to expand NYC's urban forest. Step 1: Let's get the NYC Urban Forest Plan done, Mayor Eric Adams!

Oof! We hate seeing the work of our colleagues at Columbia Climate School so misconstrued. It’s not trees polluting the air – it’s exhaust from cars! To get the real story, check out the news from Columbia Climate School here: news.climate.columbia.edu/2024/08/05/pla…

Thank you Governor Kathy Hochul for defending environmental protections that create jobs, clean our air and water, increase outdoor recreation opportunities, lower costs for consumers and reduce risks communities face from natural disasters. They are fundamental to our way of life.

Environmental funding protects what we all need - clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and safe places to enjoy the great outdoors. We urge Governor Kathy Hochul New York State Senate NY Assembly Majority to include a $500 million #NYEnviroFund in final #NYBudget. #CleanWaterAndJobs

The NYC urban forest cools the city and cleans the air. Last week, The Nature Conservancy testified with fellow Forest for All NYC members at the New York City Council Committee on Parks & Recreation to support full funding for the NYC urban forest.

Thanks to the leadership of Senator Pete Harckham and Assemblymember Rebecca Kassay, the Septic System Replacement Fund has passed the State Senate and Assembly—that means upgrading outdated septic systems, reducing nitrogen pollution and protecting the water we all depend on.
