🚨 NEW: Right after the U.S. bombed Iran on June 22, ICE began arresting a disproportionate number of Iranian immigrants in the United States. A majority of them were neither convicted of a crime nor had pending criminal charges, ICE's own data shows. prismreports.org/2025/10/08/ira…

If God forbid, there is a major terrorist attack, domestic or foreign, it’ll be Trump’s fault for diverting agents away from national security and counterintelligence to grabbing Hispanic kids in the middle of the night.

A federal judge confirmed what we already knew: ICE’s warrantless arrests in Chicago broke the law. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is keeping watch and demanding accountability.

Great op-ed: "[W]e’re not just rounding up violent offenders. We’re arresting working parents, students, asylum seekers and even U.S. citizens, to create made-for-TV crackdowns. ... [N]ational security requires focusing on threats — not turning law enforcement into a spectacle."

NEW: Maria Greeley, a U.S. citizen in Chicago, says she was detained for an hour by masked DHS officers. A Latina, she says they called her a liar, with one officer saying she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley. She even had her passport on her, which they at first called a fake.

The tools & tactics ICE is using to arrest US citizens & thousands who pose no threat have existed for decades in misguided immigration laws passed in 1990s. We can enforce civil immigration laws w/o chaos & fear but that requires Congress to step up & finally amend those laws.

The danger isn't in the streets in the city of Chicago. The danger is what’s happening when troops are being sent in to stand on street corners with rifles.

The vice president of the United States thinks it's "pearl clutching" to criticize people who call rape "epic," say "I love Hitler," refer to black people as "monkeys," and declare "everyone who votes no is going to the gas chambers."

This is grossly dark. These are broken people. But it's also so politically dumb. How do they think Americans will react to being told that anyone who doesn't support Trump is a terrorist?

“Sanctuary cities” aren’t lawless — they’re practical. Local police are balancing safety and resources while D.C. plays politics. @NYTMag’s Marcela Valdes's latest backs up what I argued for Third Way: sanctuary policies are about smart governance, not defiance.

As I argued yesterday, the Trump admin’s goal is to frighten immigrant communities such that millions of undocumented immigrants will self-deport. These tactics make people feel unsafe, causing unrest and anger to rise and endangering the lives of their own officers as a result.

Pritzker: Throughout history we've learned that tyranny doesn't arrive with dramatic proclamations. Most times it comes quietly wrapped in the language of law and order, with fingers pointed at someone who doesn't look like you, promising safety while demanding that we sacrifice

This is a real headline.  The world is laughing at us. The government is closed. Inflation is rising. Health care costs are increasing. But Trump is making AI memes dropping feces on Americans.
