#NileCooperation 1 big challenge in Nile Basin is a dearth of data on water quality. Despite ever increasing #Pollution & decline in water quality. Wednesday 11th was Burundi’s turn to acquire modern equipment from NBI, funded by @CIWAprogram to enhance WQ data collection & use.

Burundi’s package contains: ➡️a real-time monitoring sensor at Ruvubu River ➡️lab equipment (pH, conductivity, turbidity meter, glassware, etc.) ➡️Field test kits ➡️ICT equipment, a set of calibration standards & lab reagents #NileCooperation #WaterQuality

The sensor will be Burundi’s first one nationally with the capacity to measure #WaterQuality parameters in real time & immediately transmit the data to the national data management system. #NileCooperation

#NileCooperation NBI’s is aiming to strengthen its multi-faceted Nile basin-wide water monitoring system to improve national #WaterQuality networks & regional data-sharing. Overall, NBI works to protect, restore & promote sustainable use of the Nile's ecosystems.
