Did you know the ISU Northern Research farm at Kanawha is the oldest outlying research farm in the ISU system? It was founded in 1930, in the middle of the depression, and is now 95 years old! ISU Northern

The sins of fall tillage are going to haunt this corn field this year. Too wet when tilled in the fall and left large clods, and now rock hard and bone dry after two passes of field cultivator this spring. I could barely find the rows to stake the trial. Hope we get some rain!

Rainfall as of 7:45 a.m. was 0.98 inches. That brings my gauge total to 2.3 inches since Sunday morning. A few ponds just starting to make an appearance around my house. #isucrops
