Has my MP David Pinto-Duschinsky MP signed the amendment to block the government’s planned £5bn cuts to disability and sickness benefits? More than 100 Labour MPs are backing it. We need every voice standing up for disabled people.

On this day in 1945, at only 16 years of age, Stanley Kubrick's first, and possibly most iconic, photograph for Look magazine was published after the head of the photographic department purchased it without hesitation for $25 on the spot.

Thanks for the “concession”, Keir Starmer. But continuing to target disabled people with cuts, creating a two-tier benefit system, while shifting money to fund bombs and missiles is a far cry from the Labour value of fairness.

Simon Schama Check out Nathan Abrams book on Kubrick. Enlightening and entertaining. For full disclosure he’s my PhD supervisor but don’t hold it against him. amzn.eu/d/iZoPCqt

I’m at the Winkfield Resource Centre to hear disabled people share their experiences of the welfare system. Bambos Charalambous turned up — credit to him. But David Lammy and Catherine West are absent. No wonder this week’s debate was such a shambles. How can they speak for us and vote
