More distraction: new #preprint we posted a little while ago biorxiv.org/content/10.110… looks at somatic copy number #evolution in #colorectal #cancer. Suggests a #CNA bottleneck adenoma->cancer, & thereafter CNAs experience #stabilising #selection, remarkably even in mets & chemo.

Does immune evasion matter for driver genes? Our latest work in Genome Biology with Maria Secrier Simon Walker-Samuel Andrea Sottoriva and the fantastic Lucie Gourmet explores how immune evasion impacts the driver landscape during tumor evolution. Check it out: bit.ly/4blmEul

🚀 Excited to share our latest research! We developed GRITIC, a novel method for timing genomic gains using bulk WGS data. Our findings reveal non-parsimonious evolution and increased chromosomal instability post-genome doubling in tumors. aacrjournals.org/cancerdiscover… #cancergenomics

Inflammatory bowel disease (#IBD) increases bowel cancer risk: 1/3 of patients with low grade dysplasia (LGD) will get cancer. This risk is very high &reason for treatment. But also major conundrum b/c 2/3 patients with LGD won't get cancer. Can we know who is really at risk? 1/3

Head and neck cancers have the longest treatment times of all major cancers, with just over 50% treated within 62 days. Hopefully risk stratification studies such as EVEREST-HN will streamline referrals and lead to faster treatment for these patients. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
