The end of the Radiology Partners vs United saga. Short answer: hopefully no investors are mad that RP didn't get that extra $94 million (h/t Ned Holman, MD) benwhite.com/radiology/coun…

This morning Independent Radiology just crested 70 true physician private practices listing their job offerings. I am of course incredibly biased, but I'm starting to feel like using this as part of a job search is quickly becoming a no-brainer. independentradiology.com

Radiology PE expansion has slowed in the US but other markets are popping. Massive purchase in Australia for 17 times earnings. Seems a bit overvalued? Wonder when foreign investors will start sending more $$$ at RP to decimate the rest of US radiology. Doctor Money Matters

Oh and if you take the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) back to ‘92 when Medicare implemented same, in real dollar terms the MPFS is down over ~60%

Scary precedent for radiology groups struggling to recruit/retain IRs. "The Massachusetts Court of Appeals has ruled that a Mass. radiology [group] could be held liable for failing to provide...an on-call interventional radiologist." auntminnie.com/clinical-news/…

📢 MGMA strongly supports the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act introduced today by Representatives Murphy, Panetta, Miller-Meeks, Bera, Bucshon, Ruiz, Joyce, and Schrier. We urge Congress to quickly return from recess to pass this critical legislation,

RP propaganda slide directed to prospective residents and fellows during this year's RSNA. Physician ownership in RP is not real thing for anyone who joins after a practice after it has sold out its soul to RP. It's an outright lie to naïve young rads who don't know any better.

Today Dr. Roger Marshall introduced S. 1640 the ‘‘Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025’’ which would increase Medicare physician reimbursement by 8.51% starting June 1. The increase reflects a prorated reversal of the 2.83% Medicare cut physician practices

Dan nails the analysis here. How do we reverse the trend? Well we have to unwind a lot of bad policies and strengthen others: Strengthen/Maintain: 1. NSA 2. Tying the Medicare Fee Schedule to Inflation Unwind/Fix: 1. Site Neutrality 2. Prior Authorization 3. Stark Laws 4.

The House’s MEI adjustment changed the trajectory for the Medicare Fee Schedule from a negative to a positive. Without it results in death of private practice which leads to consolidation resulting in increased costs and worsening patient care. The Senate needs to realize this.
