It was my privilege to welcome 2Lts Gardner, Oliver, Cooper and Telford to the Army Air Corps at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst today. The Sovereign’s Parade never fails to impress me, especially the Advance in Review Order. Well done to all those commissioning tonight and good luck! Sound on!

On a few weekends every summer we focus on inspiring the next generation of #ArmyAviators at Wyvern Army Gliding Club. Today we have 7 very excited Army cadets from Wiltshire ACF here. Who knows, one of them might just be that #Apache pilot of the future. The Army Air Corps

#OTD 65 yrs ago the modern The Army Air Corps was formed from our WW2 forebears, the Glider Pilot Regiment and the Royal Artillery’s Air Observation Post squadrons. Proud of our heritage, we’re excited by our future at the British Army 🇬🇧’s leading edge. #ArmyAviation #abovethebest

Long shot I know but my car has been stolen from outside my house in London N10 between about 4pm and 11:30 tonight. Blue Lexus RX450 reg EJ67 PHA it is fitted with hand controls as I am a double amputee. Feeling sick Camera gear in the boot too. Metropolitan Police #stolencar Lexus UK

A mere 28 yrs after I was first asked if I wanted to go down the flying instructor route I have finally become one, albeit gliders not helicopters. Thank you to James, Caitlin, Josh, Cody and Ryan from Wiltshire ACF for being my first customers. Hope you enjoyed it. #nextgeneration

New York and Manhattan, bustling, noisy and beautiful in late summer sunshine. Unexpected British iconography on 5th Avenue and HMS Queen Elizabeth majestic in the harbour.

When I’m asked what I miss about helicopter flying it’s this. Low level night flying takes regular practice so no surprise as I let the dog out just now to see one of a stream of the new The Army Air Corps ‘Echo’ model Apaches, making the most of the stunning moon this evening.

Great send-off for Preet Chandi tonight. Having spoken to 18000 students in the 4 months after her 2021 S Pole trek she’s about to cross the Antarctic - 1100 miles in ~70 days. “I’ve no doubt it’ll be difficult but what’s 70 days in a lifetime?” #rolemodel #breakingboundaries

First trip to 🇵🇱 for an excellent defence helicopter conference and time afterwards to explore.Reminders of Poles fighting bravely alongside the WW2 Allies despite their country’s occupation. And I saw the real Maid of Syrena, a badge still proudly worn by two The Army Air Corps sqns.

It was a pleasure to welcome the The Army Air Corps’ newest officers to our Army Aviation family yesterday. Congratulations on your King’s Commissions, 2Lts Michael Walsh, Jamie Rogerson, Gus Groves and James Shields and best wishes for exciting years ahead. #ServeToLead #AboveTheBest

Welcome home from your world record breaking trek across Antarctica, Preet Chandi! What a superb athlete, accomplished explorer, impressive officer and inspirational person you are. And happy birthday too.
