Who is “she”? We can't assume that children always know what a particular pronoun refers to when reading or listening to reading. This study with children in K is one of many suggesting that teaching children to infer reference helps them get better at it: psycnet.apa.org/record/2021-51…

Way back in the '00s (when I was a young child🙃), I got to play a small role in Dr. Jack Mostow's 🔥🔥🔥work using speech recognition and computer adaptive technology to coach children as they read. Awesome how far this has come and excited about the next phase of development!

Interesting to follow the literacy reporting from Wales this week. The research on cueing has not been adequately addressed in Ireland, notwithstanding the significant (optional) PD on this topic in recent years. As usual, Nell K. Duke's writing clarifies: ascd.org/el/articles/wh…

So proud of PBS KIDS' newest show! It's the first PBS KIDS series to feature central characters on the autism spectrum. It was developed by a team that includes many individuals who are neurodiverse, & it was informed by research! ♥️#CarltheCollector
