This shows how difficult it is to trust these models. Sometimes, they make a mistake, and when you ask them to double-check, they correct it. Sometimes, they answer correctly, and when you ask them to double-check, they make a mistake. Remember: these models don't reason.

I don't know of anything with more potential than AI. Large Language Models are amazing, and they will get better, but building production applications with them is tough. We need to keep investing in evaluation techniques. Testing has haver been more important.

Loved the book "Literary theory for robots" by Dennis Yi Tenen a very different account to understanding AI. Thanks for a book sparking so many ideas! Reading recommendation.

Now available for ACM Members: "Awkward Intelligence: Where AI Goes Wrong, Why It Matters, and What We Can Do about It," by Prof. Dr. Katharina Zweig. The book explains how many levers computer/data scientists must pull for AI's supposedly objective decision making. share.percipio.com/cd/l906r4I-V

PubMed has been down since yesterday. It's the largest database of biomedical literature in the world with 37M citations. If this is a result of Trump's NIH funding freeze, it's extremely bad news for scientific community not just in the US but across the world.

Hey Yann LeCun, I just noticed that your original MNIST data set seems to have vanished from your website. I tried multiple links but the directory it was part of seems to be empty. All other data sets seem to be there. Just to let you know.
