My last long weekend was in the furthest land of humans, Svalbard, near North Pole. I arrived on the first polar night. My most memorable trip, endless dark and cold, but seeing so many strong creatures surviving the extremes. I also visited the Global Seed Vault the first day.

Our paper on dmPAG Tac2 neuron in aggression is out. From Fos mapping, Ca2+ imaging to #chemogenetics and viral TRAP profiling, then validation. I think this is a great way to link a neuron type to a function. thno.org/v15p0707.htm #Theranostics I love every minute of it!!

I spoke with nature about private foundations, such as HHMI, canceling funding for ongoing diversity projects and deleting all the data from the website. Why are anti-DEI government orders affecting philanthropic organizations?

Haven’t posted anything on X but I am continuing growing my own areas. We wrote a small piece on T2D/AD/NPS, with a student I mentored in Bordeaux School of Neuroscience as a mini-project I brought in. Also with my long-time science buddy HB Yang journals.lww.com/nrronline/cita…

In mice, insulin signaling in microglia plays a key role in microglial cellular metabolism and the ability of the cells to take up Aβ, such that reduced insulin signaling in microglia alters mood and social behavior and accelerates AD pathogenesis. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…
