The Newton County Sheriff's Office administrative offices will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of the Fourth of July. The Detention Center administrative office will remain open. As always, our deputies will remain on duty and respond to calls throughout the holiday.

On July 1, we kicked off the 8-week #CitizensAcademy with a new class of engaged community members! They met our leadership, toured the facility and got a behind-the-scenes look at how we serve. Thank you for helping build a safer, stronger Newton County.

Our agency and GNR Public Health installed the second Naloxone vending machine at West Side Precinct, 3612 Salem Rd, Covington, open M–F 8–5. The first remains 24/7 at Newton County Detention Center, 15151 Alcovy Rd. Free, life-saving Naloxone available when needed.
