After months of negotiations, management has proposed raising the salary floor from $60,000 to $61,500. Our proposed minimum is $67,000: a fair baseline for the rising cost of living. Prestige can’t feed us; we want fair pay for everyone at The The New Yorker, and we want it now.

The results are in! With 99% of members voting, the New Yorker Union has unanimously passed a strike-authorization vote. The New Yorker and Condé Nast management must come to the table and bargain in good faith—otherwise, we will see them on the picket line. Fair contract now!

In light of the Israeli army branding 6 Gaza-based Al Jazeera journalists as "terrorists", in what amounts to a hit list targeting their lives, we reiterate our call for the protection of these media workers. 1/2

We are on ULP strike. We gave The New York Times management months of notice of our strike deadline, we made ourselves available around the clock, but the company has decided that our members aren’t worth enough to agree to a fair contract and stop committing unfair labor practices.
