This is such a touching and fitting tribute to my late friend and Rotman School colleague, Peter Christoffersen. He was both brilliant and a joy to spend time with. I can’t help but smile myself whenever I think of his ear-to-ear smile. utoronto.ca/news/peter-chr…

Northern Finance Association Another good gender paper, “Origins and Real Effects of the Gender Gap”, this one on CEO allocation of capital to managers by gender. To paraphrase, misogynist CEOs allocate less capital to female managers and generate poorer firm performance.

Heard at the NFAs over breakfast: the biggest marketing issue with the launch of a new ETF is the ticker symbol choice. Cute/memorable works. Suggested (only half joking) by Mike Gallmeyer: have an auction price for tickers just like seats at the exchange. Northern Finance Association
