I really wish Apple would give special access to apps that have time sensitive health information. For me, if my dang Home Screen widget and Apple Watch complication could update up to 288 times a day to show my 5 min Dexcom value that would be so nice.

Today would have been Deborah Roseman’s birthday. I keep it on my calendar as a reminder she was here, she was a friend, & she made an amazing dent on the world. Her passion for health equity came from deep inside & was a huge inspiration for me & countless others. We miss you Deb!

KP’s strike is hugely important. It’s a reflection on how broken care delivery economics and culture are. And it’s amplified by KP’s sophistication: best care experience I’ve had, & epitome of failed culture. To be clear, I stand with KP’s nurses, workers, and providers.

Ady Barkan was an inspiration to all of us. There are very few people in this country who have done more to make health care a human right. To honor his life, let us dedicate ourselves to completing his work.

At my yearly physical, I asked my doc if we could include ApoB in lipid panel. He asked “why? That’s genetic and can’t be changed.” 😳 I asked for HbA1C and he said “so you think you have diabetes?!” 🤦🏼‍♀️ And people wonder why it’s so hard to advocate for yourself as a patient.
