Session 4 IHMC2022Kobe with Ami Bhatt Stanford University says we should be measuring absolute abundance of microbes. Also that the revised estimate of human to microbial cells is 3.2:1

If you are at the IHMC2022Kobe and interested in how gut transit time and pH associate with gut microbial metabolites 💩🧪 I am happy to chat at the poster no. 197 🤩

New paper from our lab in Microbiome! We find that #overweight individuals with a #Bacteroides enterotype🦠, not only have higher body weight, but also have less energy left in the stool (per g dry faeces), suggesting a more efficient energy extraction⚖️ doi.org/10.1186/s40168…

Yesterday I had the pleasure to present some of my #PhD work at the #NWS2023 and stimulate a discussion about the role of #guttransittime and #gutpH for the host-microbiota #metabolism. Thanks for having me! Nutrition Winter School 🇫🇮❄️ NuGo Nutrition

New paper first-authored by talented Nicola Prochazkova and Naomi Venlet - congratulations!👏🍾 Here we show that a whole-grain diet (compared to a refined-grain diet) increases faecal #butyrate and #stool frequency in overweight adults. 👉Grains matter! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

Why do some individuals exhale methane while others don’t and what can a simple breath test tell us about our gut? Some of the questions we are trying to answer in the PRIMA consortium 🧪🧫🧬 check my poster at the Precision Nutrition Forum at #CBMR for preliminary findings 🤩
