Math misconceptions can be sticky. Once they take root, they’re hard to shake. Students: What misconceptions have you struggled with, and how did you shake them? Teachers: What’s a misconception you always advise students to watch out for?

Hard agree. Showing students a completed image without explaining the steps to get there will often confuse them and (even worse) induce cognitive overload. Breaking the construction of complex images into steps with explanations is essential for understanding and retention.

Ensemble methods such as Extra Trees and Random Forests often differ in quite subtle ways. It's easy for students to go through the motions without really understanding each algorithm's unique features. Short paragraphs like these force students to learn their differences.

One thing that concerns me about math education at the primary school level is the idea that every math concept, no matter how trivial, needs to be explored for days on end using countless models and manipulatives in order to provide students with a "deep understanding" of these

My son's school, for starters. That's one of the reasons I took him out and placed him in a school that teaches math properly. It's been three months, and he's now thriving. If you DM me, I'll happily share the school's details with you.
