Haley A. Brown (Nicole M Koropatkin lab): acarbose inhibits gut enzymes that break down starch. Also incr. butyrate production, decr. Bacteroides abundance. Does it inhibit their enzymes too? Yes, & differences exist between species b/c one has a backup enzyme. #BeneficialMicrobesMtg
