The description of care workers as low skilled is hugely offensive. Not all skills can be taught. The ability to care for vulnerable people with compassion and in a way that protects their dignity is one that should be prized and rewarded to a much greater extent than it is.

He is White. This is how Whiteness works - humanise White criminals. The deliberate act of running your car over multiple people including children is whitewashed. But if he were Black or Brown these headlines would scream the worst of humanity.
