Flooding is among the most common and costly natural disasters… and many homeowners don’t realize that flood damage isn’t covered by most homeowners insurance policies. To be protected, you need a separate flood insurance policy --- and most take 30 days to go into effect.

The City of New Orleans today announced that City Hall will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.    Normal business hours will resume on Friday, June 20 at 8 a.m.

The City will host its second public meeting on Wednesday, June 25th to continue gathering community input for the update of its Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP). The meeting will be from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the Norman Mayer Library on 3001 Gentilly Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70122
